  • Weekly email snapshots tailored to each child's age
  • A private family dashboard to track insights over time
  • AI-powered conversations to answer parenting questions
  • A curated library of articles about child development
  • The ability to invite family members (like grandparents) to share in the experience

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your account and password
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about yourself and your children
  • Only add children for whom you are a parent or legal guardian
  • Only invite family members who have a genuine relationship with your children
  • Use the service in a way that respects others and follows applicable laws
  • Keep your conversations appropriate and respectful

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Upload viruses, malware, or malicious code
  • Harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Scrape, copy, or reverse engineer any part of the service
  • Use the service to collect data about other users

6. Intellectual Property

Our Content: All content on BrightYears — including text, graphics, logos, articles, and insights — is owned by BrightYears and protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works without our permission.

Your Content: You retain ownership of the information you add to BrightYears (children's data, conversation content, photos). By using our service, you grant us a license to use this content to provide and improve the service.

You can delete your content at any time, which will terminate this license.

7. Not Medical or Professional Advice

Important: BrightYears provides general developmental information and insights. We are NOT a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice.

If you have concerns about your child's health, development, or behavior, please consult a qualified healthcare professional.

In case of emergency, call your local emergency services immediately.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

BrightYears is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that:

  • The service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • All content will be accurate or complete
  • The service will meet your specific needs
  • Any defects will be corrected

We use AI to generate insights and responses. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors or be incomplete.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BrightYears and its founders, employees, and partners will not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Loss of profits, data, or use
  • Damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service
  • Damages resulting from unauthorized access to your account

Our total liability to you for any claim related to BrightYears will not exceed the amount you paid us in the last 12 months (or $100 if you haven't paid us anything).

10. Termination

You may terminate: You can delete your account at any time through your account settings. When you delete your account, all your data will be permanently removed.

We may terminate: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or use the service in a way that harms others or BrightYears.

Upon termination, your right to use the service ends immediately. Sections of these Terms that should survive termination (like intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will continue to apply.
